Athletes Games village for 20th Commonwealth Games on 2014 is expected to be an "Own Home" experience for the athletes.
Games village will be located at Glasgow’s East End sector in the middle of Europe's largest regeneration area.
Commonwealth Sports events will be conducted at different venues closer to the Athletess village.
Glasgow 2014 Games village for Athletes in the 20th Commonwealth Games is developed by the Glasgow City Council and City Legacy.
Glasgow Games village will be able to provide accommodation for 6500 athletes and other officials of Commonwealth games.
Games village will also have an International Zone , which will include areas for recreation ,retail shopping ,restaurant facilities ,medical facilities and all important services.
Games village is planned to built as an attractive residential area with 1400 homes.
Out of this 300 homes will be given for social rental. 35 hectares of land was taken for building the Games village and the entire construction is expected to be completed by January 2014.
Games stadiums and venues for Commonwealth games 2014 will be built around 3 areas in the Glasgow City.
All the venues will be arranged in such a way that they are easy for Athletes to reach from the Games Village.
Glasgow 2014 Venues clusters are classified as East End, West End and the South Side.
Among this Commonwealth Games Athletes Village will be located in the East End sector.
